Not all door catches are a suitable shape to accommodate a door catch handle. The pintle on the door catch handle must be able to insert into a fully enclosed loop from above.
The door catch must be suitably shaped to accept and support the handle.
¶ Door catch position
The door catches on a vehicle are not adjustable or relocatable. Verify that they are at a suitable height for a door catch handle to be useful.
The door catch on this car is probably positioned too low to be useful.
The height of the door catch may differ between front and rear doors on the same vehicle.
