A grabber or reacher tool is a long rod that has a mechanical pinch grip on one end, and a squeeze handle on the other. They are intended to give a longer reach for items that are too far away to reach without it.
Grabber tools are useful for those that are seated in a wheelchair and are unable to reach things which are too high up. They are not useful for those with significant weakness in their shoulders, upper limbs and hands, as they require the ability to raise the hands, good grip strength, and wrist stability to be preserved.
